One of my favorite things about getting up at 3:00 AM is that I can see the sky filled with many twinkling stars. This past Monday, I witnessed a breath-taking sunrise. The heaven truly declare the glory of God!!!!! I tried to capture it on my cell phone, but I thought it didn't work. Gab was looking at the pictures on my cell phone and she discovered that my picture did come out!!
Unfortunately the picture isn't bigger :( It truly was a remarkable sunrise. It made me think of my favorite part in the Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis - when the Lion sang creation into being. I love that book. I think it's my favorite. No wait, Horse and His Boy is my favorite! No wait, Voyage of the Dawn Treader. OK, no really, all time fav must be Horse and His Boy! I loved certain parts of the other books - Reepicheep!!!! Eustace becomes a dragon!! Hmmm, I think that will be it's own blog!
P.S. - The audio books of this series is REMARKABLE!

Leaving Boston Commons (Boston - part ?? I lost count)
When we left the Commons, we saw several people dressed in period clothing. They were giving tours for the Freedom Trail. We didn't have time to take a tour but we did get a picture of a tour guide.
As we were walking, we heard church bells. As we listened more closely we realized it was "All Hail the Power of Jesus Name". How neat is that!
A Sombering Moment (Boston - part 5)
I knew we were planning to spend the day in Boston, so I did some research on things to do in Boston. One of the things I happened upon was the New England Holocaut Memorial. I can't even describe the experience - moving, shocking, unbelievable...I don't know exactly.
There were 6 glass towers - one for each concentration camp. There were 6 million numbers on the towers, collectively. The numbers represented the number tattoo that each person received upon entering the camp.
On the bottom panes, there were some heart-wrenching quotes, which were etched in black. Unfortunately, it was very hard to get a decent picture.
I Googled the some of the quotes for you to read.

I left there teary eyed. I was so incredibly thankful that I have never experienced anything even remotely close to the Holocaust.
If you would like to learn more about the New England Holocaust Memorial, I'm including the link.

Subway Fun (Boston - part 4)
In order to save money in Boston, we took the MBTA around Boston. We took 1 bus and several subways. It was very cool! The subways in Boston were very clean and I felt very safe (and very cramped! - Lots of people take the subway.)
(I know it's blurry, but hey, we were moving☺)
Tuna decided to document the subway coming.

Boston - part 2
One of the places we went while were were in Boston was Little Italy. There was such a delicious aroma of basil and sauce through out the streets! YUM! There stores and restaurants were so quaint and inviting.

The reason we wanted to go to Little Italy is because we heard about this FANTASIC pastry shop - Mike's Pastry Shop.
It was A M A Z I N G!!!!! We bought 3 cannolis - regular w/ chocolate chip on the ends (me), chocolate mousse (Gab) and a peanut butter (Gab and I shared that one). Poor Tuna just had butter cookies. She did say they were way better than Shop Rite's cookies ☺ Gab isn't a big cannoli fan but she L O V E D these cannolis!
The cannolis were HUGE!!! Literally, they were the size of a sugar shaker that you find in a restaurant. (The first picture was taken on my cell, so the quality wasn't great - but you get the idea).

I have to say that I wasn't too impressed with the service. The lady seems in a rush and she wasn't very polite. Granted, it was very busy, but she could have been a bit friendlier.
We took our purchases and began to explore a bit more. The restaurants all had very large windows that were open (like french doors). We were able to see the decor of the restaurants and smell that wonderful Italian dishes. We stumbled upon a little espresso place. - sooo cute!!
While I was doing my research on Little Italy, I read that there was a rival bakery right down the street from Mike's Pastry Shop. The place was called Modern Bakery Shop. I L O V E D that store. It was cozy and quaint. They had teas, coffees, cookies and other Italian goodies for sale. The people were much friendlier. Our original plan was to get a cannoli from both places and then compare them - but I was already cannoli-ed out - even though we didn't eat our cannolis, just the thought of buying more cannolis kinda grossed me out :p Instead, we opted for a cherry cheese cake and peanut butter cup (which Gab and I split) and a gluten-free/dairy-free whoopie pie (for Tuna).

They have over 15 flavors of cannolis :)

Perhaps, It's A Coincidence....
Never, never, never vacuum up a spider! There is a great possibility that it will COME BACK!!!!!
Perhaps, it's a coincidence that the new spider that's hanging in our house has the same coloring as the old spider. Perhaps, it's a coincidence that this new spider has shortened and missing appendages on the same side that we vacuumed up the other spider. Perhaps, it's a coincidence....you be the judge.
What's your verdict?
Personally, I don't think it's a coincidence. I think it's the SAME SPIDER WHICH IS COMING BACK TO GET US BECAUSE WE TRIED TO VACUUM IT UP INTO OBLIVION...AAARRRRGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In comes Ree Ree.
Ree Ree is our cute cat. We thought it would be good if Ree Ree would become an attack cat and save us. Please notice her mouth and teeth.
But alas......
Well, sorry to report, it didn't happen :*( I have no idea what Ree Ree was attacking. If you look on top of the black cabinet - there's the spider.
So how did we finally get rid of the spider??
Tuna rescued us by finally killing the spider and throwing it away. Hmmm, does that mean that Sissy is back doing cat chores??? ☺
